haggis102 Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 Does anbody know if its possible to bind a drawing and have only the objects visible in the viewport to remain in model space after binding. I'm working with some pretty big models and am trying to reduce file sizes after binding. Cheers, Haggis Quote
haggis102 Posted July 5, 2011 Author Posted July 5, 2011 Thanks anyway but found my answer! Command: xclip Allows you to create a viewport and delete's items outside of the viewport dramatically reducing file size of bound drawings. Hope this helps someone else out! Haggis102 Quote
RobDraw Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 haggis, "XCLIP" does not delete anything it just hides stuff. Check the file size after using "XCLIP" and binding and compare it with the same file without "XCLIP" and you will see they are the same. Proof is when you explode the block created by binding. All the stuff that was hidden shows up. If you do find something that works, I am interested in finding out if there is a way to do that easily. Quote
SLW210 Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 How are the viewports created? If using SOLVIEW and SOLDRAW the viewport line work will be on their own layers and the rest can be deleted. Quote
