Replace entity in block

Is there any way to replace an entity (say a line) with another entity (say a circle) in a block definition using AutoLISP?

Short answer, yes. But there is more to it than that, what exactly are you trying to accomplish?

if too complicated, use BLOCKREPLACE

(make a block inside your block)

I was thinking the same thing, or just redefining the block.
