Whats the best way to create a fixings list or components list as a table?

OK. Well you at least used blocks right? And you're looking for a count right?

Yeah Blocks and BCOUNT is the most efficient way of doing this.

 

I'm fortunate enough to have a Solidworks license at work so when it comes to structural design that requires a fixings take off I always use Solidworks over AutoCAD. It's just more suited to the purpose.

 

If you haven't use Blocks then this is going to be very long winded (depending on the complexity of the design of course).
