bobsun Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 Hi, I would like to ask a question on “Break at point”. It is possible to break a line but for circles and ellipses, my attempts resulted in no break at all (see attached picture). Does “Break at point” support circles and ellipses? If you have a circle and you would like to make it a ¾ circle arc, or any arbitrary angle, how do you do that? Bob Quote
tzframpton Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 Can't do circles or ellipses. The way around it, is to use the Polyline > Arc tool to create a circle. For Ellipses, set the PELLIPSE variable to 1 to create Polyline Ellipses. Quote
Jack_O'neill Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 (edited) Autocad won't let you have a 360° arc, and that's essentially what a circle broken at only one point would be. Unless someone knows a fancier way, I'd draw a couple of lines where I wanted the circle broken, trim to suit and erase the lines. Same for the ellipse. Edited August 15, 2011 by Jack_O'neill why can't i see the missing words before i hit the button? Quote

Find it here...http://lee-mac.com/circlebreak.html Quote
acadesign09 Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 The BREAK at POINT, is a command not be used in circle and ellipses... Quote
