bennyboy86 Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Hello, I was wondering is there a way to export text, dimension, leaders and table styles? I have been trying for a while but can figure it out not even sure that you can. if anyone knows how that would be great. If there isnt doesnt matter. thanks. Quote
Lee Mac Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 Could you clarify how you want to export these items? To another drawing? As a list to a CSV or txt file? My 'Steal' program here will import these items from another drawing, if that helps at all? Lee Quote
nestly Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 I don't know about exporting per se, but you can import those things into any other drawing by: 1) Inserting the source drawing into the destination drawing (note: you don't actually have to insert it, if you out when it prompts for an insertion point, all the all the styles will import without actually importing the model) 2) Use Design Center to import anything from any drawing into any other drawing. bennyboy86 Posted August 22, 2011 Author Posted August 22, 2011 Lee Mac, here is clarification: 'We' (i use the word WE losely as i think its a waste of time) want it set up so if someone is using a drawing and purges it, and loses the standard styles we have set up, would like it so they are to be able to import the style they have purged. Also as a txt file so i can add to the standard drafting procedures. again i think its overkill, thats what the template is for...... I think it is easiest to just reopen template and copy something over with the style that is missing, but this is what has been decided on so have to make it work. hope that makes sense. that steal program looks pretty good but, maybe can convince everyone to install that would save alot of stuffen around. nestly Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Reinserting your template will restore all the purged styles. Quote
irneb Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Yep, "exporting" them is probably going to require some Lisp/VBA/DotNet/ARX ... Importing them can be done through Lisp (like with Lee's) or through Design Center, or simply inserting a template drawing and explode (though that brings in everything at once). If you mean you need to "redefine" the settings from an external source (i.e. Layer properties need to match with the standard), look at using the the Standards / LayTrans commands. That's the only ways I know of using just normal ACad commands. Otherwise you'd need some special lisp (even more than what Lee's is doing). Quote
