The Nickster Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Okay this may be a stupid question but I'm wondering if there is a way to designate a specific point such as 0,0 in a normal drawing without moving the objects to the actual point 0,0? Basically I want a certain beam intersection to be my 0,0 without moving the floor plan of the building to but rather move the 0,0 to that intersection. Make sense? Is it possible? Quote
fuccaro Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Define a user coordinate system with the origin in the desired point. As long as that UCS is active, all the coords are relative to it. Quote

eldon Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Command BASE I am not too sure that would do what the OP wants. BASE is used to set the insertion point when it is NOT at 0,0,0 and is used when inserting or externally referencing only. Quote
irneb Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 Well, the UCS origin moved would suit for the current drawing. But if you want to xref this into another with that same point as the insertion point then base is also needed. Quote
