Material editor problem

Hi All

Just wondering if any of you have had this happen to your material editor? all my slots have turned to a light grey colour instead of the dark grey. do you know how to change it back?

they went like this after I downloaded a model off the internet.

sorted it out

here's how

click customize on top menu bar, go to preference settings on the box that comes up there is a section that says "materials and colors", I had both "affect color selectors" and "affect material editor" checked, I Unchecked "affect material editor" and it went back to normal.
