Hey,
First of all, thanks in advance for who actually takes time to read and answer. I cant seem to solve my problem. I have added raster image (.tiff extension), .shp extension and created surface from .shp on top of it. I created a surface and from the surface i generated contour lines. Contour line thicknesses are all set in normal numbers. The problem seems to be, that in layout view, at first the lines appear normal. Problem arises as soon as i have changed the paper size to either A4/3. Contour lines seem to be seriously out of scale and appear way too large. As large as the whole screen is basically covered in fat lines. I am using map3D 2011.
Again, thanks in advance, who takes time to answer.
Best regards,
Henri Kersna

I take it you are using Data Connect to bring in the shp file and create the contours with. After you set up the viewport on the layout try to refresh the map in the display manager, a right click in a open are on the display manger and select UPDATE. Another thing is you may need to create a scale range in the style editor for the contours to display as you need for that scaled viewport.

I have moved this to the MAP3D Forum.

Regenerating the layout view and refreshing the contour layer doesent seem to work. I also cant find the actual place, where i could actually change the range of contour lines and labels. Does anyone have any other ideas or can perhaps guide me step-by-step to a option, where i can actually change the scale range for the contours?
I have also added a picture to clarify the situation.
PS I do remember having this kind of blob-situation in Civil3d also, but on those occasions just a random refresh or regeneration worked just fine.

Thanks in advance,

You create a new scale range in the Style editor, the palette thats in your screen capture, in the top half. Change the From & To to fit your scale range then in the bottom half set the style you want them to dispaly.
As for the Paper Space layout display, I have better luck using model space to create the view/display as needed then export that map to AutoCAD DWG format, then create a layout from that exportd dwg.

Well, i am stupid:/ The style change was actually my initial thought i tried, but i missed something really basic. The style change helped. Anyways, again, thanks alot for your help and patience.

I do have another issues with the whole scale issues. The elevation labelling acts weird. I change the size from the feature label settings, it acts (size decrease) normal to a certain size, but from one point it basically changes to a line, as if it was turned 90 degrees vertically. Any ideas?

Do not use the Device Space for the size content, use Map space and size the label based on the map units/scale. When using PS Layouts the device space has issues that are hard to understand the scaleing/zooming levels.
