I've used the UNITS command to use meters. However, when I go to Page Setup Manager, the plot size is measured in inches.

I suspect there are many places where units can be set. Can someone please tell me where?

Jozi68,

Have you used an imperial template when creating starting up your drawing?

I've used a template that we have to use at work, so I don't know the origin of it

Is it a custom template or one of the templates that ships with AutoCAD? Post the template file name.

Custom Template, "Devtech2011" (or something like that)

Could be a result of the plotter/printer you selected.

"...or something like that." Nice.

Don't think it is the printer, I'm printing to CutePDF.

The question is: Where can one change units (apart from the UNITS Command).

When I open Toolspace, on the settings tab, expand point, expand commands and double-click CreatePoints; the units is inches (this has nothing to do with printers).

So I suspect there are other places too where units can be set.

(I'm using Civil 3D 2012 by the way)

Always nice to know what program the user is actually using.

Sorry, I have no experience with either Civil 3D or CutePDF.

On the Setting tab in the toolspace, right click your drawing name, Edit Drawing Settings, theres a few options in the first tab. Also when you install Civil3D there are two short cuts added (by default with OOTB install) one is for Imperical dwgs one for Metric. But before you try that you may want to go to your profile/account settings for this site and update the info to display the software you currently are using. ;)

Thanx Murph, I think that might be what I was looking for.

I've updated my profile, thanks for the advice.

a bit late, but you can also type "-AECDWGUNITS" to get more units than the settings tab will allow (this will set the 'drawing settings' units as well as the 'units' dialog). This is where the real 'units' in Civil 3D are - kind of strange when we have the units dialog, the settings tab drawing settings, and then -aecdwgunits all giving different results.

p.s. for regular autocad, I believe it is -dwgunits to get the same thing.
