BlackBox Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 Welcome to CADTutor! We recently purchased these laptops for our CAD users... The dual 20" monitors we currently have are being replaced with dual 24" shortly. We run Land Desktop 2009, Civil 3D 2011, Civil 3D 2012, and Microstation V8i (unfortunately)... All without issue. BIGAL Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 Only real diffrence between a pc and a laptop is that the laptop is easier to throw across the room when your #$%^& at it. Both will run the software aim at I5 or I7 64 bit. Quote
ReMark Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 Where people tend to have problems with laptops is with the graphics (type) and the amount of physical RAM that can be installed. Many laptops come configured with an onboard graphics chip rather than a dedicated graphics card. This could manifest itself as a performance hit under some circumstances. What is your budget? Quote
