Having a weird problem in AutoCAD. These three vertical lines are showing up on the viewports of my drawings in paper space but the lines are not in model space. When I go to the Model Layout they are not there, I can only see them in paper space:unsure: They are not-selectable in either paper or model space, not on any frozen layer, not part of something on the paper view....and THEY PRINT but they ARE NOT THERE?????? In a last attempt I tried rebooting the computer because sometimes the program gets funny little gliches in it but those lines are still there. Has anyone ever experienced this before and if so how do I get RID OF THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What version of AutoCAD are you using at the moment?

Please verify if the problem is seen in all drawings that utilize paper space. Yes/No.

I am using AutoCAD Lt 2007. And strangely enough the lines are not seen in all drawings utilizing paper space. (Which I find even more confusing) In the overall bldg plan drawing (paper and model space) the lines are not visible, but in the viewport drawings which highlight certain areas of the building they are there (though only on paper space).

Post a sample drawing and someone here will take a look at it.

Welcome to the forum!

My first instinct would be to Audit the drawing. If you can't select the lines but they still print, they may be orphaned objects in the database.

Is it possible that they're part of an image frame and frames are toggled off?

I've had the silly program add borders to viewports that either overlap each other or infringe upon the printable area limits.

Fixed it! It was the viewports like Dana W said. The program somehow added borders to the viewports that infringed on printing area limits creating these strange vertical lines through my drawings. When I edited the viewports they went away.

Thanks very much for your help everyone! (I'm so happy!) :D
