bsimpson Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 I am using AutoCAD 2010 and when I open and run a drawing for a while the AutoCAD program hangs and won't respond. I have to close the program and then reopen AutoCAD. How come AutoCAD keeps doing this and how can I resolve the problem? Quote
Tiger Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 what are the specs of your computer? Is it capable of running AutoCAD at all? Has this happened just now? What changed? New install? Have you had autoCAD before on this computer? If you leave AutoCAD doing what it is its doing for a while (10-15minutes) will something happen? Are you sure? Have you tried it? It could be the Autosave that is taking forever. Quote
ReMark Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 What are your system specs? Does this happen only with one particular drawing or any drawing you are trying to open? It could be you are running low on resources (memory) but that's just a guess at this point. Do you get any error messages? Do you have problems with any other Windows based programs? Quote
bsimpson Posted January 16, 2012 Author Posted January 16, 2012 My computer has 4gigs Ram and a core 2 dual processor. Before the CAD program worked without a hassel only now and then does it run a motion of not responding. The autosave is set to run every 10mins. Not sure what else could be causing the problem. Tiger Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 Does it do the same if you open a brand new drawing ? Or is it just old drawings? Have you changed anything with the computer before this behaviour started? Quote
bsimpson Posted January 16, 2012 Author Posted January 16, 2012 Surprisingly enough it appears to work when I switch skype on. Is there a possible conflict? Quote
