solidheart Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 Hello everybody , I have just created an assembly in inventor 2012 and I started running a dynamic simulation regarding the velocity, force, moment ....etc for this assembly .. this was done at the university lab where we use 2012 .. Unfortunatelly ,, I tried to finish my work at home where I have inventor 2011 but no way ... could anyone help me and tell me what to do ?? Thanks in advance Quote
Bishop Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 So far as I can tell, there's no backwards compatibility. Quote
solidheart Posted January 19, 2012 Author Posted January 19, 2012 Thanks Bishop .. Do not you think that I can save the file in Step format ? and then work on it on 2011 Quote
Bishop Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 STEP or IGS, yeah, but you'll have to re-set up all your simulation stuff. You can take stuff from 2011 to 2012 (or 2010 to 2011 / 2012) but I haven't found any way to take stuff backwards. Quote
solidheart Posted January 19, 2012 Author Posted January 19, 2012 Yah ... me too .. i could nt find anything to do it backwards .. one last question please .. Do i need to save as in (step format) all of my parts and assemblies or it is sufficient to save the main assembly on which I will do my simulation ?? Regards Quote
JD Mather Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 When you save the assembly as STEP it will save the parts in the file for you. Students can download Inventor 2012 for free from http://www.autodesk.com/edcommunity Quote
solidheart Posted January 19, 2012 Author Posted January 19, 2012 thanks aloooooooooooot .. that is really kind of you .. Quote
