mathew21 Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 im trying to hatch a area inside a box but every time i try it says that there are gaps but they are within tolerance and give me OK or NO if i select OK it hatches one i want and one beside it and the boundary it creates is all messed up if i select NO nothing happens ive tried to find out how to identify the gaps and ill ive found is to look for the red circles.. mine dont seem to display is there anyway to turn them on? or another way to show the gaps i have so i can close them i always draw with snap on Quote
bill_borec Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 I have, on occasion, had similar grief with hatches..."my solution" is: 1. use the BPOLY command and select inside the desired hatch area-This will generate a boundary. 2. select the newly created boundary for the hatch boundary (using pick and object as opposed to picking a point within). You may also join all of the lines you are trying to use as a boundary, thereby converting them all to polylines. Hope this helps! Quote
Grant Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 Sometimes it is best to draw the boundary area you want to hatch into another layer and make sure it polylines so Autocad doesn't get confused. Annoying I know! Quote
BIGAL Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 Well known buggy problem been around for years no matter how hard you join pts together, move a end point of a line using grips then put it back hatch works then . Why is it so ? Quote
ReMark Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 Post the drawing so we can take a look at it. Quote
mathew21 Posted February 1, 2012 Author Posted February 1, 2012 i was able to fix it but it required alot of manual editing of the hatch pattern and adding and removing vertex's what i think it was doing is hatching it then creating it as a island and hatching around it Quote
