Proctor Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 Hello: I wanted to know if it's possible to export a drawing from Autocad to Excel. The drawing is in both model space and layout and contains polygons and blocks. Thanks, Proctor Quote
Organic Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 What do you expect the end result in Excel to be though? Quote
Proctor Posted January 26, 2012 Author Posted January 26, 2012 Hi - thanks for your response. I would want all the objects to display in excel. E.g. Say if I have 4 polygons that are in the shape of letters TEST. I would want those to show up in Excel. Do you know if this is possible? thanks again, Proctor Quote

You can OLE autocad dwgs in MS office apps provided you have AutoCAD installed on the workstation the speadsheet is opened on or even dwf with the dwf viewer(s). If you just want the shapes of those polygons then a simple bmpout or jpgout in AutoCAD and insert the image into the document. Quote
Proctor Posted January 27, 2012 Author Posted January 27, 2012 Thanks for all your replies. The polygon shapes can output as a bmp and then there will be some text that will need to go as well. I'll play around with using OLE from Cad to Office. I'll also check out how to do it in powerpoint and see if that might be a better way to go. thanks again, Proctor Quote
