Openantics Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 i checked my survey data elevations and reviewed the triangle TINS, and all seems to be ok, but do not understand the resulting contour lines. its almost as if the precision is set too high. any ideas from the attached image? much thanks! eldon Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 I would say that that is a typical set of contours. As AutoCAD works mathematically, it gets the precise location of the contour. To get a result more pleasing to the eye then you have to curve fit the contours. I usually spline fit a polyline. Looks much better. If you get the TIN lines to display, you will see the sudden change of direction of the contour occurs at these lines. Quote
