cvriv.charles
I attached an IPT file for you to mess with. Basically,... I use to place all my holes "from sketch". I started placing holes using "linear" along with driven dimensions because I like the math involved doing it that way. Also it saves on file size big time! Anyways,... I have come to a point where I have to place a hole on the bottom surface of this beam. The hole is center width wise but slightly off center length wise. Center of the width is easy because this bottom surface has a driven dimension for the width so all I have to do is divide by two. The length does not because the beam is tapered at both ends using a sketch, work plane, and the sculpt feature. So im forced to create a sketch just to create a driven dimension. there's got to be another way. A better way. Thanks for you help in advance. 10-10-322_left.ipt
cvriv.charles
Failed to mention that I want to try and stay away from using absolute lengths etc.
