Hi guys,

does anyone to know a way to solve a problem like this:

think about that I have one big rectangular and its dimension is LxW 310x180 centimetres.

Now the clue is:

How can I arrange inside it many smaller rectangular, each ones with different dimensions?

The question is that I have a big sheet of marble and I have to cut off form it a set of smaller parts and each part has a different length and width

Thanks,

Stefano

I suggest you to do a search for "nesting" on forum.

Hi mate...I'm still in trouble, could you tell me more about that?

Nesting software is used to optimize the number of parts that can be cut from a piece of material (ex. - sheet metal) while at the same time minimizing waste.

Some programs are considered standalone while others may actually work inside of AutoCAD.

Does that explain it for you?

Examples of nesting software are AutoNEST, ImageNEST and ProNEST.

@ReMark

thanks mate, finally I got the point:)

what do you recommend? I'm trying to use SygmaNest because AutoNest seems not to be compatible with AutoCad 20212 Is it true?

I'll appreciate something free ware...if it's possible

I don't use nesting software so I cannot advise anyone here on what program may or may not work within AutoCAD. Sorry.

As for a freeware version of a nesting program I do believe I saw one mentioned somewhere but I don't recall where that was. I'll try to find it.

The best I could find was a shareware version of a program called Astra S-Nesting 2.0.0 but I don't think it has been updated in a while.
