When the rectangle is clicked it says x clip boundary, but it is seen only when opened in the later versions of autocad 2010 and 2011 but not 2007 and 2008.

It is not seen in the print preview either...How can i change this setting?...I have tried copyin the plan with blocks into a new drawing and the same rectangles appear around the blocks.

when i check the block definition the rectanlge does not appear in the block definition...

If it had anything to do with x clip wouldnt this rectangle which when clicked on says xclip boundary, be seen in the file file viewd on a different version of autocad.

Perhaps you can tell me...

Summary

The clipping boundary determines the portion of an xref or block instance that is hidden, either outside or inside the boundary. The visibility of the clipping boundary is controlled by the XCLIPFRAME system variable.
