3D objects change how 2d works. Snaps etc.

I have not used AC for 3d drawings in years. But I do a lot of 2d in AC2012. Yesterday, I was killing time and took a look at some of the 3d capabilities while in an existing drawing. I inserted a few 3d objects, but I eventually deleted them. Now I notice that the UCS icon has become the 3d UCS, and my snaps no longer function as expected. Is there some way to purge the 3d info and return the drawing to it's original 2d functions?

The 3D UCS is can probably be resolved by switching back to 2D wireframe visual style.

By snaps, do you mean OSNAPS? If you're going back to strictly 2D, make sure to return to WCS, Planview, and Parallel perspective, if any of those have changed.

As far as I know, deleting or purging the 3D objects wouldn't resolve any of the conditions you described.

You can also post the drawing, or a small portion of the drawing, which is usually the most efficient path to a fast and complete solution.

D'oh! Thanks. I guess I missed that inserting 3d objects would change Shademode. I'm usually never out of 2D wireframe so switching back was all I needed.

I've never experienced that it does..... I assumed you switched visual styles (shademode) to better view the 3D objects.

Either way, glad to see you've got it resolved.
