Jaffe Joffer
Hello Does any know how (if possible) i can change my settings so that if im working on a particular layer, if i draw a dimension it will automatically be on my preferred dimensions layer and not the one im working with? this was pretty straight forward on MicroStation. ReMark
Yes, I believe it can be done working off of a tool palette.
Oppie
Yes, it can be done working off of a tool palette. Just click on a dimension and drag it to the toolpalette on the toolpalette right click the dimension and choose properties there you can change the layer. This also works with Multiline text. Almost with everything you drag on it.
Dadgad
Lee Mac has a wonderful little lisp called LAYER DIRECTOR on his sight which will place items on seemingly appropriate layers, even create the layers in your choice of colors should they not yet exist. I use it for dimensions, viewports, text and leaders. It uses a reactor which changes to the layer you want when you choose a tool such as a dimension, and after placing it on the designated layer it returns to the layer you were on before you created it. I love this, thank you LEE! http://lee-mac.com/layerdirector.html Edited April 18, 2012 by Dadgad

Dadgad
Just make sure you put it in all of their STARTUP SUITES, so they don't even need to call it, you'll be glad you did. They probably won't even notice.
rkent
I have been using Layer Director as well, works very well and easy enough to add your own commands to the routine. Nicely done Lee.
