binaya shahi Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 why don't autocad fix those errors? such errors have been around for ages. no matter how many newer versions are introduced same errors gets repeated again and again. and i have also a problem with from command, it picks the point at a little distance from where it was meant to pick from. SLW210 Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 I created a new thread for this question problem with FROM OSNAP command modifier in AutoCAD Beginners' Area forum. Works perfect here, I have never had a problem with the FROM OSNAP command modifier. Are you using OSNAPs for the rest of the locating? Quote
binaya shahi Posted April 26, 2012 Author Posted April 26, 2012 yes, suppose i want to pick a point on a line1 at a distance of 3' from one end of the line1 to draw line2 perpendicular to line1. then i would use line command and to pick the first point i would right click and choose "from", then i would choose one end of line1 as a base point and place the cursor such that osnap snaps to other end of line1 and then i would type distance 3'. the first point of line2 will be at 3 ft from one end of line1 but it doesn't lies on line1 but slightly away (right or left of line 1) from line1. binaya shahi Posted April 26, 2012 Author Posted April 26, 2012 one is with break at a point, when this command is repeated instead of breaking line at a point autocad leaves gap in the line! and one is with from command i just explained below. Quote
ReMark Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 Re: Break @ Point. I suppose it depends on how you are indicating the break point. Each time the command repeats it prompts you to Select object. Maybe you are in a hurry and getting ahead of what AutoCAD is expecting and what it is that you want to do. Quote
