johnny17 Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 I'm having a problem, please... How can I draw a circle which has to go through point & tangent, if I know radius?!!! Please, maybe some mathematical advice!!! Quote
Dadgad Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 Welcome to the forum. Read the commandline after starting the circle command. There are numerous different options displayed there. In order to choose one of them enter the CAPITAL letter which coincides with that choice. When in doubt, read the commandline, as it is the only way the software has of communicating with you. It will lead you through the steps and teach you how to do it. If you try the TTR circle option you should be able to do it. Quote
eldon Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 Try and think it out logically. If you want a circle to be tangential to a line, then offset the line by the radius, and the required centre will lie somewhere along that line. If you want a circle to pass through a point, then draw a circle (radius equal to the required radius) centered on that point, and the required centre will lie somewhere along that circle. Put the two together, and the required centre point will be at the intersection of the line and the circle. This is one of the instances that AutoCAD's variety of circle drawing needs a bit of help.
