Wire number vertical horizontal

AutoCAD 2013 electrical doesn't seem to recognize a horizonally draw wire versus a vertical. How can I get a group of wire numbers to properly rotate?

Wire numbers are automatically positioned based on the settings in Drawing Properties and the location selected on the wire.

Wire numbers can be flipped to the other side of a wire or placed in line with the wire by right-clicking and selecting Flip Wire Number or Toggle Wire Number in Line.
