AutoCAD freeze due paste and xref attaching

Often. AutoCAD freezes due to pasting content from other drawing. Some symptoms I notice when its happens are the following

 

  1. nothing really happened, te courser is in "thinking" state. Nothing is written on the text bar. Most of times its loading the file after long waiting.
  2. text bar saying that there is double definition of block (sometimes even if im pasting to a new file)
