Hello,

I have a drawing where I am trying to use the scale 1:20. It was previously architectural scaled. When I input this information in my custom scale list it accepts it no issues. When I update a dimension to this scale however it puts it in at 3" = 1'-0" and for some reason leaves it in the properties bar as 1:20....but its huge on the drawing

So basically autocad will not accept my 1:20 scale I have created.....has anyone else had a similar problem? Do i need to change my units to something again when the default is us standard?

Thanks

it's difficult to guess from the description what might be wrong. I would start by entering -dwgunits and run through the prompts to make sure all the drawing units are what you think they are. If the units are indeed correct for your work, try to reset the scalelist. Find one that was just added from the reset if you can, and verify your 1:20 follows the same pattern of those reset scales (meaning the drawing units to paper units ratios). Autocad adjusts these ratios for feet, inches, and metric.

If everything in units and scale ratios seems good, and an altered existing dimension still seems strange, I would suspect altered properties of the dimension. Try placing a new one using your scale (once you verify the settings of the dimension style also). Does it also not appear correctly?

I'm really just taking a wild swing here....More people might be able to help if you can attach the drawing.
