How to match (change) a "z" value of one entity to match another?

Hello All, I currently use Mep 2012 although my question I believe is general in nature. As a sheet metal contractor I do drawings that have many different entities at various elevations. Many times I use change propeties to match the propeties of on entity like a linetype to change another. What I really need to do is have the ability to use a similiar button like match properties and match or change the "Z" elevation of a specific entity just like I do for linetype, color etc. Any ideas?

Thanks

Complex entities requires special attention like heavy polylines ("AcDb3dPolyline") or lines with start and endpoint at different "Z" values. The rest is easy :)

Can you provide a list of the type of entities you would pick Line Circle arc 2d pline would be easy as Pbe says.

Are they Mep objects as these would be harder to change you need to know how to get inside these.

1 pick object

2 pick object to take on the 1st Z

I use a third party program called Quickpen...Basically generates 3d view of ductwork and various items like dampers and ceiling diffusers for the Sheet metal Industry. Just trying to come up with a way to bring multiple items, weather it be a line, text or a block representing a ceiling diffuser up to another elevation by using something similiar to the match properties command. As I draw ductwork and move it to a specified elevation...lets say 10'-0" the associated text stays @ 0'-0". Naturally I would like to move all text to an elevation slightly above its designated entity so when looking at it in a 3d sw view all text or assoiated lines are not sitting on 0'-0".

It still sounds like we need to know what the duct objects are, moving text, lines is the easy part. Can you post a dwg. Are the lables generated by quickpen ?

I know you can do stuff like work in plan but the text is auto elevated to top of wall etc but we wrote the lisp that way.

Hi,

I have a similar situation & I have polylines Line Circle arc 2d pline and blocks.

The elevation is on the block by name "tickmark". I just need to match the elevation to any of the above. Different elevations at different locations.

Thanks in advance.

To both requests you need to post a sample dwg it can be done pretty easy.
