Ribbon looks different

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I am using ACAD MEP 2012. While i was working on a drawing my AutoCAD session locked up and terminated the program, not thinking anything of it i just restarted ACAD and started working on the same drawing. I noticed the ribbon looks different and now all the command buttons are not showing up under the tabs they are ALL in dropdown windows now. I don't know what happened to the original ribbon setup but it is definitely not what it used to be. Attached below are pics of what i am referring to. The first picture is what it used to look like, the second and third pictures are what they look like now. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Have you reloaded your workspace?

Are you using the correct Profile?

Recently I experienced something similar (using Civil 3D), and found that launching the OOTB 'Metric' Profile (I normally use an 'Imperial' Profile), closing, then launching my normal Profile fixed the problem (I have no idea why, but it worked).

What happens if you click here 3 times?

JD Mather you are the MAN!!!!!! I clicked it twice and it fixed the ribbon. Thank you! i also noticed that my Osnap aperature boxes were a different color than they were before my drawing locked up, I changed it back but now everything seems like it reverted back to old settings; with selection preview and other miscellaneous things that i had turned off... oh well it's a start anyway. Thank you again!

Yes I even tried switching profiles and it didn't work.

Good catch, JD ... I didn't even think about that, as I use a large® monitor, and never modify the ribbon display (from full view).
