XREF Object/Anno Location

Recommended Posts

I have a xref with sample locations that I am working with and importing into multiple different files. My problem: I will make changes in the xref and then go to the drawing where the xref is attached. After reloading the xref, i see that in model space the changes are fine. These changes are just moving the location of an object. But when I go to paper space, it still shows the object where it initially was before I ever made a change. Not sure why it's doing this.

Any ideas?

When I create a new viewport I can see the changes have been made. But then when i change the anno scale to the scale I need it at for the objects to list at a consistent size, the objects move back to their original locations as if i never made changes in the xref. Please help.

Try OPTIONS>System tab> Layout Regen Options>Regen when switching layouts.

If that doesn't do it, what is Demand load Xrefs set to? Options>Open and Save tab> External References>Demand load xrefs:

Try setting it to disabled.

I figured it out, i have to move each object for each individual scale. I have blocks with attributes set up with multiple scales in my xref file, I moved the attributes for the 1:1 scale thinking that would change the attribute locations for all the scales. So i switched to to another anno scale in my layout view of the other drawing and it showed the 1:1 attributes moved but not for the other scales. Is there a way to move the attributes for all scales without having to individually move each attribute for each scale.

First use Annoreset and pick your anno objects.

Then use the move command rather than grips to move things.
