hcostanzo Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 Happy Monday evening! I'm looking into a design program to load on my home laptop. I unfortunately don't have the money right now to buy a home license of AutoCAD and I just started a new job so I'm not comfortable asking my new bosses if I can use my work setup to design things for home. All I'm looking for is 2D drafting, mostly for home projects such as I would like to redesign my backyard as the previous owner hadn't cared for it in years (). Are there free programs worth downloading and does anyone have recommendations? Any help is much appreciated! Quote
Cad64 Posted October 22, 2012 Posted October 22, 2012 Draftsight, free and ready to go. I'll 2nd that recommendation. I use Draftsight here at home. Works great. Quote
edwinprakoso Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 If your license at office is on subscription, you can ask for 'home use' license. As long as AutoCAD at office and at home are used by the same person, it is legal. But you need to request it on subscription center first. But yeah, you can have Draftsight for free anyway. Quote
