Command Line Placement

Recommended Posts

Posted

I was going through some exercises in an ACAD book and floating my command line, etc. and now I can't get it back to it's original place. Or at least when I do it's covers everything there.

How do I get it back to normal?

So when you dock it, it's too large?

You should be able to resize the height of it when it's docked.

The cursor will change as shown in the screenshot - then you can stretch it.

Thanks for your quick response.

I have it docked just like where you have it but it covers the layout tabs, etc. And it won't resize small enough to not cover them.

Maximize your screen.

(both the app and the current drawing)

I can only reproduce your issue if I have the current drawing window Restore Down.

(not to be confused with Minimize)

Post screen shot of your window like above.

Is it really docked or just placed there? If it is not docked it will cover up your tabs. I think there is an option in the right click menu for the command line window to allow docking, make sure that is checked.

Rob is correct, but you must right click on the header area (left margin) of the commandline, then you will see the ALLOW DOCKING option.

You have to slide the command line box all the way down into the lower left corner, just above the status bar, until it begins to flicker and morph transparent. Once it takes the horizontal transparent shape it will dock between the status bar and tabs when you let it go. It will not dock above the tabs, never has. It will also dock on either side, and up at the top, or anywhere else as long as it is up to the window frame. The status bar is part of the frame, so the staus bar will stay on the bottom.

Got it.

I did need to move it ever so slightly and suddenly it docked. Don't really know how it happened but it did.

Thanks for your help.
