samifox Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 hi we have really serious problem in the office. we are civil engineering company, and most of out work is to get drawingfrom a civil architects and add our layer on that drawing, but when openingthose drawing we get the message that there is ObjectARX missing, andfrom that point on our life become very difficult, we cannot copy pasteobjects, and lots of other basic action cannot be complete without crashingautocad. im using AutoCAD 2010, but i saw it happening with all the versions of AutoCAD. search for enablers are set on in Option please any idea? Thanks Shay Quote
RobDraw Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Ask the architects to export their drawings instead of sending copies of the files. If done properly, this will eliminate the need for enablers. Otherwise, manually check to make sure you have the proper enablers. Quote
SLW210 Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 OBJECT ENABLERS Export would be the best route. Quote
samifox Posted November 8, 2012 Author Posted November 8, 2012 Most of the files utilize xref, if they will not use e-transmit the file wil be kind of useless Quote
ReMark Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 What would be the ramifications of just deleting the proxy objects? Quote
samifox Posted November 8, 2012 Author Posted November 8, 2012 Can't see any proxy....just can feel it messing the drawing Quote
ReMark Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 (edited) Then there wouldn't be any downside for you in doing so right? Yes, I realize you can't see them. If you aren't going to download object enablers then your only other option would be to try and delete the proxy objects. Erase Proxy Objects from a Drawing http://www.cadforum.cz/cadforum_en/qaID.asp?tip=5296 Done all I can here. Onward and upward. Good luck. Edited November 8, 2012 by ReMark Quote
