looking for autocad built-in template info

dows anynoe knows where i can get information about autocad built-in template? like what the template does, the settings etc

That is a very good question, one to which I don't know the answer, but I wish I did.

You are probably aware that Autocad defaults to IMPERIAL based templates.

Most of the METRIC ones have ISO as a suffix, although a few of them may use METRIC too.

If it says ISO though, it is METRIC.

The easiest and most definitive way to determine beyond all doubt what type

of template you are using (meaning Imperial or Metric database units),

is using the -DWGUNITS command.

When using it, one should hit F2 in order to open the commandline text window,

the better to understand all available options in the command.

I believe that most long time users have saved their own templates as starting points

for new drawings.

i believ those template have thier own registry veryable setting set which we can never know without documentation. perhaps the admin should leave this thread open so long time users can lighten us.

im working on my own template. right now im implementing acad.dwt becuase im afraid of the rest

Afraid of the rest of....? Not sure I follow you.

Creating a custom template with one's own settings, etc. is always a good idea.
