iainlines Posted November 23, 2012 Posted November 23, 2012 Morning folks, Does anybody know of a good IGES to Autocad converter? Does Inventor fusion support IGES? I know I should look it up myself but I'm running around like a lunatic this morning Cheers y'all! Quote
JD Mather Posted November 23, 2012 Posted November 23, 2012 AutoCAD 2013 will read IGES. Free Inventor Fusion will read IGES and save as dwg. http://labs.autodesk.com IGES files are often surface bodies. You will need to learn the Repair tools in Fusion to stitch a solid body. Quote
iainlines Posted November 26, 2012 Author Posted November 26, 2012 Thanks JD. I'm pretty sure (haven't lloked as yet) that they are large surface models created in Catia. Should be a fun project for me getting them to a state where I can print off some 2D drawings. Any tips would be greatly appreciated Quote
iainlines Posted November 26, 2012 Author Posted November 26, 2012 Can this be done in Fusion, the printing of 2D drawings from a 3D model? I once dowloaded full Inventor and this was very easy but my free 30 days ran out Thanks Iain Quote
JD Mather Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 Fusion does not have any 2D drawing functionality. Ask your source to save the IGES as solids rather than as surfaces. Quote
