Does anyone have a 3d football in dxf or dwg format?

I am making a project of a robotic guy that has a ball at his feet, I can draw the guy but struggling with a perfect wireframe football.

c'mon, give it one more try :)

I made a not so good-looking footbal in 2 minutes by drawing an arc, connecting endpoints, make the shape a "region", "revolve" about the axis.

For a wireframe you could start with an arc, use "revsurf" to create surface. Set SURFTAB1 to a number (> 10) to give you desired definition.

Hi Carl,

Thanks for the advice but the football I need should be made from hexagons not arcs, a football in the traditional sence. if it was not 3d i could manage but making the sphere perfect is way over my ability and then getting these polygons to all meet together is actually very hard to do.

Can you do this?

hi gus, do you have a 3d version of a soccer ball? just its wire frame/model, I am really stuck and this project is likely a one off not needing to totally learn how to use autocad and lisp. Can cinema4d export to dxf? what version are you using.

The thing is Styk... it is a freebie, i's dotted, t's crossed.... a step by step to make one helluva nice football (soccer ball to our septic friends {septic tank - yank}). The man can't go wrong, follow the bouncing ball, job done. All sorts of code available on that thread beaut job, hats off to LSR, nuff said, my final thought on this thread............................................ .....

Try making a torus with a negative radius and radius of tube larger than that i.e.- -2.0/3.0.

I'm still looking for a football that went over the fence at the school yard. If you find it can you (e)mail it to me? Thanks!
