esolan
I am using AutoCAD Architecture 2012. I built some walls and a roof slab using the wall, door, and roof slab tools in the build section of the ribbon. I drew a sectionplane and activated livesection. The walls and roof did not cut away and they do not show up when i use the sectionplanetoblock command. Is there a setting I need to change to make the walls and roof susceptible to being cut using the sectionplane command?
bill_borec
Check layers. (on/off/frozen/thaw). Are all the correct layers on and thaw? Ensure the section plane intersects the roof and walls. Check the display settings on the live section and section plane created.
tzframpton
Is it a 3D Live Section?
esolan
every layer is on and on thaw. the section place is right in the middle of the building, so it intersects the walls and the roof. What display settings should I be checking? How can I check them? Is it possible that the sectionplane and livesection commands do not work on the AEC objects like walls, doors, windows, and roofs? Is there a different way I can go about creating sections of a 3d model?
esolan
it is a 3d livesection.
SLW210
I know sectionplane/livesection will not work on blocks and exhibits the same behavior you describe, so just a WAG that it doesn't work on AEC objects.
tzframpton
Live Section works in a 3D rotated view only. If you're wanting to make actual "sections", then click the Section Line once, and in the "Building Section Line" Tab, click "Generate Section".
