Dimensions Changing

Recommended Posts

I've seen this posted before but none of the solutions worked for me. I dimension in paper space. I'll go out of a layout then back in and some of the dimensions, not all, are off and not just by a little. Today one dimension that was 2'-4" changed to 120'-0". This happens a LOT. I tried making sure the scaling was set to 1. I made sure the "Make new dimensions associative" checkbox is checked in User Preferences. This must happen to other people because it happened to others at the school I go to as well. SURELY AutoDESK must be aware of this. Why no solution or better yet for the price, how about a FIX?

Thank you!

Welcome newcad to CADTutor. :)

It is generally considered bad form to hijack someone elses thread, barring it being decidedly relevant to the earlier post.

In the future, I would suggest starting a New Thread.

Be that as it may, I am bored to tears, with no work to do at the moment, so...

Is the viewport scale locked in your viewport?

If not, it should be, very important.

What you describe sounds like OIE (Operator Induced Error), not a software bug, or inadequacy. :|

If you post your drawing, it will make it much easier for the forum members to figure out what is creating this problem.

I'd be happy to check it out for you.

I don't know if this is your problem or not but I had a similar bug going on last year. I noticed in PS with nothing selected I would open Properties, the annotation scale would be set to something other than 1:1, like 1:96, and using annotative dims in PS would cause the larger dimensions. I have only ran across one drawing with that problem and I couldn't ever change that drawing to 1:1. I had to rebuild that one. Like I say this may not be your problem.
