nicolas
Hi, I need to make a custom-made barrel thread 24mm. long with size 8 or 10mm and pitch of 6 mm. How can this be done in Inventor? Thanks.
gazza_au
Open the thread.xls (Design Data folder of Inventor installation) file in Excel and go to the "ANSI Metric M Profile" (metric) tabs. Add rows with thread sizes you want to add. Restart Inventor to accept changes. I would then download cool orange thread modeler from the add ons and cut the thread. https://apps.autodesk.com/INVNTOR/en/Detail/Index?id=2540506896683021779&appLang=en&os=Win32_64
JD Mather
I would create cylinder. I would sketch cutting tool. I would then use the Coil command with Cut option - just like out on the shop floor.
