Ste1978
Hi, Is there a way to set up autocad(2004) so that when I insert a block, the block then automatically breaks the line I am inserting it on. My drawing's are mostly electrical schematics so the line I am refering to is the circuit and my blocks are components. At the moment I insert my block and I have to use the command 'break'. I know this does not take up a lot of time but I am always looking for ways to speed up! Thanks for reading. Ste
Boro Nut
Yes it's possible - we have the same thing for piping line diagrams. Inserting a valve symbol etc trims the line. I've no idea how it's done though. Boro Nut
Designer
Maybe its a lisp file.
lpseifert
This doesn't break the line but if you create a block with a wipeout it will hide the entities behind it. I've attached a simple one for an example. Try toggling Wipeout frames on/off to see how it works.

Ste1978
Okay I'm back! How do I create a block with a wipeout? I'm struggling!
robika68
Hi lpseifert, I don't notice the attace example for this thread. I'm new to this any chance forwarding it to me? robika68
ReMark
Another approach would be to use Lee Mac's Automatic Block Break lisp routine. Find it here...http://lee-mac.com/autoblockbreak.html
ReMark
An example of using a wipe/block combo. Move the block (white) relative to the green lines. SimpleWipeoutBlock.dwg
