Cad64
Is the Hatch contained in an xref, or maybe a block? When you check the Hatch Properties, what does it say?
f700es
What does the "properties" panel say? With the properties panel open you should see the area. Good luck
profcad
It sounds like the hatch pattern was created with an older version of AutoCAD that didn't support area in hatch objects. Type CONVERT and see if that updates the object. If that doesn't work, double click on the hatch and check the option to recreate the boundary. Delete the old hatch and then rehatch it. edoll
I have a CAD file that was produced from Illustrator (I know, probably not a good idea). It is a file of an entire university campus where I am wanting to find the area of impervious surfaces. So The DWG Works great in CAD and it is one large hatch with a boundary - not a bunch of individual hatches. When I select it in CAD, the area does not show up in the properties dialogue. Is this because the command I am asking CAD to much of a task...I have every campus path and parking lot on it aka there are probably half a million lines. Any insight as how to get an area from illustrator Dwg in autocad would be greatly appreciated. I am using 2013 LT thanks,
ReMark
And what if any answer is returned using the Area command itself?
tzframpton
What happens when you select the hatch, right-click and choose "Generate Boundary"? Can you use this as a workaround at least to find the area?
welldriller
here comes dum-dum again would it be possible to erase the hatch - get the area - than use the redo command ????
