skipsophrenic
Hi all, Is there a quick and painless way to extract a list of all the XREF's in the drawing from the external references box? Did a quick search earlier and got nothing that was quite what i was after. Thanks in advance, Skipso
Tiger
You want a list extracted to an notepad-format or just displayed in the drawing file? A Field would give you all the external references in the drawing in a list.
skipsophrenic
Either way is good, just need to be able to print it off as in order to make drawing work i need to brak it up into smaller drawings, the filesize is getting ridiculous (526MB) so if i can break it up and then "tick" off which xrefs are in which dwg, that'll help (I hope)
Tiger
I'm sorry Skipso, I know it can be done with Fields, I played around with it during the summer, but I can't remember now how it was done - it could have been with a Diesel-expression... hopefully someone will come along that knows what I'm on about... NBC
Add the following code using RTEXT, diesel option Xref's in this file are indicated as - Xref name [Filepath] $(Xrefs,3,) $(Images,3,Images in this file: ) The above will give you the name of the xref, and its full file location; and the full file location of any images attached to the drawing. skipsophrenic
this is where i put my dunce hat on, Diesel???
NBC
Run the RTEXT command, it will become self evident after that. If not, enter RTEXT at the command line, then enter D (for Diesel), then copy the code i posted above in the box, and press ok.
skipsophrenic
ok cheers, an will this work even if the xref's are "not found" in the xref manager, i.e. listed but not where they should be?
NBC
hmm, it will only list the last saved path of the references. It doesn't show whether they are found at that path or not.
