sim_rx3
hi all, ive been trying to track down a Lisp routine to do the above for about a month now in 2D. everything i find comes up a bit short. as we are curently getting drawings (architectuals) with the solid hatch in walls and tree's with no boundries. since im in building services and our company doesnt like hatching (ie solid) to remove them takes away alot of definition of the drawing (way to much), especially when we have to do specialist lighting under the tree's for presentation purposes of the establishment. is there a lisp routine around that will draw a boundry around all solid shapes and then remove the offending solids off the drawing (even if they got moved to another layer to be frozen would be a great help.. thanks in advance ps im using full version AutoCAD 2009 if thats any help
ollie
Not so much of a lisp suggestion but you could the Flatshot command to create the 2D profile and write a small lisp for the hatching to save a little time Don' know if that helps you any
skipsophrenic
try doublecilcking on the solid hatch and then clicking on the recreate boundary icon
sim_rx3
thanks for the advice so far guys. the only issue of picking a solid surface and changing its boundry is there is 149 solid objects (thats in just one drawing of 3 backgrounds) the other project from the same architect has 88 solid objects (in one drawing of 6) so im going to be there a while.. would prefer something automated please.. thanks in advance

sim_rx3
awesome, this will work with 2009 (remember alot of Lisp doesnt work with 2009 now days from older Lisp routines) ill track it down and get back to everyone thank you
sim_rx3
hi all, it works with 2009. thank you edit: i does the outline to all solids to what ever layer your on. so you need to isolate layers and run the lisp so the outline stays on the layer the solid came from. so a little more tweaking needed
