Brian_63
Is there an easy way to reference one raster image in Model Space using multiple viewports in Paper Space--one viewport showing existing contours, another viewport showing new contours--all without having multiple copies of the raster image? uddfl
Welcome to the forum. Wouldn't this be easily accomplished through layer manipulation in your viewports?
Brian_63
Umm, I guess so...how exactly do I do that??
uddfl
I Im not familiar with Civil 3D but I'm guessing that layers work similarly to plain AutoCAD. You would put the existing contours information on different layer(s) than the new contours, but all over the same image. Then in paper space, make two viewports, go into each viewport and freeze layers as needed only in that viewport. I hope that helps.
wannabe
Would that work on a raster file? I'd copy the raster x amount of times and chop and change each one as necessary.
Brian_63
Wannabe, I concur. I've tried a number of things, but that seems to be the only way of doing it. Please ask only one question per thread. This insures that everyone will see your second question and you will get the best possible responses. I have moved your unrelated question to its own thread here: http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showthread.php?t=32955
