    Try setting ZOOMFACTOR to 60.

It may be a setting in your mouse's software. I have a Logitech and I needed to set the wheel to 'Middle button' to get it to zoom properly.

Logitech mouse does indeed to reset 'Middle Button' to get it to zoom.

Most mouse software permits you to reset buttons; i.e.: right, left, middle and more depending on your mouse.
