Red_Stafford
Afternoon, I was just wondering what you guys use to keep all your drawings organised at the moment we have a A5 Drawing Register that we have to search through each time somebody quotes us a drawing number is there something already available to use or would I have to create a spreadsheet ? ReMark
We have a drawing database created using MS Access. There are programs you can buy that do the same thing but include additional features such as thumbnail previews of the drawing. The more features the higher the cost. I might have a look in access but I have never really used it, cheers.
ReMark
Well the nice thing for us is everyone has MS Access on their computer so no new program was required. You're dealing with setting up fields for things like (not in any particular oder) sheet number, title, vendor, sheet size, drawing file number, dates (drawn and revised), etc. It's all relatively straightforward to set up. The difficult part is getting all the info in there. May I ask what an A5 Drawing Register consists of?
