3D With 2 Monitors

Hello everybody!

I have 2 monitors at my drafting desk. I use autocad 2009. I can not figure out how to put one 3d view one my left screen and my working 3d drawing on my right. I research and I'm not having any luck on how to do this.

Thanks,

James

You have to plug in and enable the second monitor in Windows(right click your pulpit - properties/settings) In ACAD you can work with multiple view-ports, so choose 2 view-ports/view tab, and stretch ACAD across both screens. This is the simplest way to do it, probably.

Try this:

View Menu --> Viewports --> Named Views...

Then click on the Named Viewports tab at the top.

I assume that is what you are looking for. Looks like the command is '_+VPORTS' for the dialogue box or '+VPORTS' for the command line version.

I personally do not like using these views, as it diminishes your viewing area greatly for editing, but with the dual monitor it may be okay...
