RAI32
Hello all, Got the error message "Drawing File is not Valid" Read some forums about this topic and found alot of these are related to someone sending a drawing from a different version. Here's the kicker, I'm the creator of the drawing. Started the drawing, worked on it for 9 days or so, then came in this morning to open it and that error popped up. Went into some other drawings that I've saved and I was able to open all those. I saved this one the same way I always do. Not following what I'm doing it wrong, and really don't want to start over on this thing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
RAI32
Also, when I go to file, open, and I click on the file, the correct drawing pops up in the preview window
chelsea1307
have you tried recover?
ReMark
Sounds like a corrupted drawing. Follow advice given above. Do you have AutoCAD set up to create bak files with every save?
RAI32
Tried recover, no go. Do have a Bak. file but when I try to open it, I also get the same error message
ReMark
Did you rename the bak file to dwg first?

ReMark
You're entirely welcomed. I'd run a AUDIT on the file to see if there are any errors contained within. I'd also save every 10 minutes and maybe even place a backup copy on a flashdrive or a CD for safe keeping.
RAI32
Ran audit, it corrected all my errors, thanks for advice on that. Just finished saving in two other locations. Since I am a newbie with Autocad, how often to you reccomend running the audit? every so often throughout the drawing or just before saving or when? thanks
