Pearly King
I know I can offset along a line at right angles to a straight line but how do I do something similar along a spline. ie measure a known distance along the spline or offset lines perpendicular to the spline at known intervals? JD Mather
known intervals? Measure command. You will probably want to set your point style first. For the line you might try creating as a block and then use the Measure command with Block option and Align option. For parametric solution you would need 2010. Not sure what can be done in LT. Pearly King
Don't know if I have a measure command in LT2000
JD Mather
Just type in measure and hit Enter to see what happens. In any case, I think you will need a more advanced program (like Inventor) to get the lines perp to curve at any specific point - not even sure it is possible in AutoCAD 2010. Pearly King
Yes JD just worked that out, sorry. Just didn't see it in the drop down menus fro the toolbar. As for being able to measure along the spline, no that doesn't seem to work in LT2000. Pitty. Thanks anyway for your help
