chief
Is there any way I can lock my layers so that no new layers will be added even if the drawing I import has new layers? I have a client who only wants the same 84 layers used in each drawing for a program at his end. However some of the drawing I import have new/different layers which are then added to the layer set. alanjt
No, you can't stop a layer from being created when inserting objects from another drawing. All you can do is translate the translate the unwanted layers to wanted ones.
chief
Thanks for your help. I'm trying to delete some of the unwanted layers, however even though I'm removing all the data on a particular layer and then trying to delete it I'm still getting an error message saying I cant do it, any ideas? alanjt
Probably have a nested object on the layer. Look into: LayTrans, LayMrg, LayDel
