Using The Loft Command (Suggestions Welcome)

I just created this object below (Image 1) using the Loft command (Image 2) and was wondering how I would make it hollow with the top and bottom faces removed (Image 3)?

I tried using the Shell command and removing the top and bottom faces with a 0.5mm wall thickness but all I get is an error saying:

Modeling Operation Error: No solution for an edge.

If I Shell the object without removing any faces it Shell’s ok but then I have a problem removing the two faces.

When I do a List on the object it comes up as a 3DSOLID.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Loft, then explode the object, then you can get rid of the top and bottom surfaces, then union back together what you have left

Hello Bobzy20,

You have a new option in loft command since autocad 2011

Mode

Controls whether the lofted object is a solid or a surface

-

to create solid --> Click Solid tab/Create panel/Loft

to create surface --> Click Surface tab/Create panel/Loft

or

In command line :

LOFT--> MO[MOde]-->[SOlid/SUrface]

Bye
